Alex Mackay is a dancer and artist who is known for light and depth in her teaching. Using few well-chosen words, and opening a sense of wonder. She is embodied, energetic and creative and loves to dance with the group. She is strongly connected to the birth place of her teaching in Manchester and Liverpool, where community continues to spring from the 5 Rhythms classes, twenty years later. Gabrielle Roth called her Raven Sister.

Joseph Caswell is a dazzling musician who has played music for 5 Rhythms for many years on unique percussion rigs and instruments from all around the world. He has played for Gabrielle Roth and Jonathan Horan. Playing music professionally since the age of thirteen, he has also investigated ancient tunes and sounds and made instruments himself.

Alex and Joe are delighted to return to Limerick with a van full of instruments for Heartbeat. They live in the woods of West Wales with their rock-n-roll son and their feisty pixy daughter.

Dance Limerick exists to support the development of professional dance artists within the Limerick region and beyond.

Through a combination of performance platforms, residency opportunities, master classes, talks and lectures, Dance Limerick will advocate for artistic dialogue and exchange. In collaboration with dance artists across a range of practices, Dance Limerick will promote the creation of new and innovative work and will devise programmes of access, engagement and participation for the wider public.

Based at the premises of the former Daghdha Dance Company, Dance Limerick houses offices and a fully equipped studio space along with a separate performance venue known as the Daghda Space
