Culture Night at Dance Limerick

Free, all welcome

17:00pm to 21:00pm

Fri 22 Sep '17

Dance Limerick Studio and Church Venues

Culture Night at Dance Limerick brings together youth and professional artists for an evening of dance, music, poetry and colour in Limerick’s Cultural Quarter! Finding inspiration from the words ‘together’ and ‘belonging’, artists from various disciplines are invited to collaborate and tell their stories through movement, sound and words within the magical setting of the Dance Limerick church.

Throughout the evening, there will be performances from local dancers, musicians and singer/songwriters, staff and students of the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, Summer Dance Fusion Project and Stanzas Poetry. There will also be highlights from Light Moves and Fresh Film Festival screened throughout the evening. Some performers will be wearing original designs provided by students of the fashion department of Limerick School of Art and Design, and we will be displaying exclusive work from the Limerick Printmakers inspired by movement and energy!

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Dance Limerick exists to support the development of professional dance artists within the Limerick region and beyond.

Through a combination of performance platforms, residency opportunities, master classes, talks and lectures, Dance Limerick will advocate for artistic dialogue and exchange. In collaboration with dance artists across a range of practices, Dance Limerick will promote the creation of new and innovative work and will devise programmes of access, engagement and participation for the wider public.

Based at the premises of the former Daghdha Dance Company, Dance Limerick houses offices and a fully equipped studio space along with a separate performance venue known as the Daghda Space
