Modern and jazz styles combine in this introduction to movement and music from around the world. Children will be encouraged to use their imagination to express their own individuality and develop their creativity, while also building confidence and strength.
Teacher: Kristyn Fontanella is a choreographer and performer from the US. She holds an MA in Contemporary Dance Performance from the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at UL, as well as a BFA in Theatre and Dance from Central Connecticut State University. Kristyn has toured internationally for over 10 years with many high profile dance shows including Riverdance, Lord of the Dance, Trinity Irish Dance Company, On Eagle’s Wings, Beyond the Bog Road (with Eileen Ivers) and Gaelforce Dance (lead role). A certified dance teacher (TCRG) with An Coimisiun Le Rinci Gaelacha since 2009, Kristyn is delighted to be sharing the art form of dance with younger generations here in Limerick City and is excited to see where their creativity will take them.

Through a combination of performance platforms, residency opportunities, master classes, talks and lectures, Dance Limerick will advocate for artistic dialogue and exchange. In collaboration with dance artists across a range of practices, Dance Limerick will promote the creation of new and innovative work and will devise programmes of access, engagement and participation for the wider public.
Based at the premises of the former Daghdha Dance Company, Dance Limerick houses offices and a fully equipped studio space along with a separate performance venue known as the Daghda Space
